BPAC recently conducted a survey to get basic information about residents’ walking, running and biking behaviors. They’ve also been working in cooperation with the City of White Salmon on a Safe Routes to School project to help identify routes and route improvements to encourage walking to school and make it safer. In addition, they’ve been working with the cities of White Salmon and Bingen, as well as the WS-DOT, on short-term and long-term plans for a network of safe and pleasant walking/biking routes connecting the entire area.
BPAC recently held an open house meeting to share some results, and introduce and get feedback about the draft community walk-bike route map they’re developing. It is currently focused on the White Salmon area and it includes proposals necessary to extend and interconnect with Bingen.
